The dry season in Sintang has brought consistently hot weather, making the socialization cage noticeably warmer throughout the day. During this period, Mamat has spent most of his time resting quietly in one corner of the cage. Compared to the other orangutans, he is rarely observed engaging in activities such as playing, climbing, or swinging. Instead, he prefers to remain calm and quietly observe his surroundings.

During socialization sessions, Mamat tends to take on the role of an observer. Rather than actively interacting with the other orangutans, he usually watches their activities from a distance. Although he appears quiet and reserved, he remains responsive to his environment. Whenever another orangutan vocalizes, Mamat often responds with vocalizations of his own, as if answering or participating in the communication taking place within the enclosure.

At feeding time, Mamat demonstrates several interesting feeding behaviors. When given a banana, he first peels away the skin before eating the fruit. However, once he finishes the banana, he does not discard the peel. Instead, he begins chewing the banana peel and eventually eats it as well.

His behavior is different when eating oranges. Mamat carefully peels away the rind, removes the fruit, and discards the peel. Interestingly, he does not swallow the orange immediately. Instead, he gently holds and sucks on each segment for quite some time before finally swallowing it, almost as if he is savoring the sweet flavor and refreshing juice. During the current hot and dry weather in Sintang, this behavior gives the impression that the juicy fruit provides a refreshing way to cool himself.

Although Mamat continues to spend much of his time resting and observing rather than engaging in active behaviors, these observations provide valuable insight into his calm and cautious personality. His vocal responses to other orangutans and his distinctive feeding habits remain important aspects of his behavioral development and continue to be closely monitored throughout his rehabilitation.
