Mamat’s Christmas treat began with serving fruit skewers. The selection of fruits included mangosteen, oranges, apples, and pears. As soon as the fruit skewer was offered, Mamat immediately chose the mangosteen as the first fruit to eat. This fruit is relatively rarely provided as part of his daily diet, which appeared to spark his curiosity. Mamat consumed the mangosteen down to its rind, even licking the remaining flesh still attached, as if making sure no part went to waste.

After finishing the mangosteen, Mamat took an orange. However, he did not eat it right away. Instead, he placed it on the floor of the cage, likely because he was already quite familiar with the fruit. He then moved on to the next fruit, an apple, which he ate eagerly. After the apple, Mamat continued with the pear, eating it slowly, as if savoring each bite. Only after all the other fruits were finished did Mamat return to the orange he had placed on the floor earlier. He peeled the orange, discarded the skin, and then ate the flesh completely.

Following the fruit skewer, the Christmas treat continued with the provision of durian. As it is currently durian season, this fruit was given as both supplemental food and enrichment. Despite the durian’s spiky shell, Mamat appeared relaxed while handling and opening it, showing no signs of difficulty. He then ate the durian flesh eagerly, piece by piece. The strong aroma of the durian seemed to further stimulate his appetite. Mamat even licked the remaining flesh still attached to the inside of the shell. By the end, he consumed every edible part, including cleaning the durian seeds of any remaining flesh, leaving nothing behind.
