BONDAN
Every morning, as the forest school session begins, Bondan immediately starts her exploration in the upper canopy. With agility, she explores alone, occasionally enjoying the young leaves she finds along the way. For about an hour, Bondan was busy exploring until she met Joss, who was descending to the forest floor. Drawn by Joss’s actions, Bondan decides to follow her down to the forest floor. There, the two of them play enthusiastically, wrestling and hugging each other. After having fun with Joss, Bondan becomes curious about interacting with the observer nearby. She approaches the observer and tries to get their attention, but the observer attempts to avoid her. Nevertheless, Bondan continues to chase after them, getting closer to the Forest School boundary.
After being satisfied with her time on the forest floor, Bondan returns to the middle canopy to continue her exploration and search for food. As before, she explores alone, but this time her attention is drawn to a construction project for a new enclosure near the Forest School. Several times, Bondan descends to the forest floor to observe the workers busy building the enclosure before finally resuming her exploration, both on the forest floor and in the canopy.
Towards the afternoon, Bondan continues her exploration in the Forest School, but this time she spends more time on the forest floor with Joss. The two of them explore together, searching for available food on the forest floor, including young leaves, tubers, and forest fruits like rattan fruit. When the afternoon feeding time comes, Bondan is already waiting on the forest floor to receive her meal from the animal keeper. She eats calmly, without fear of her food being taken by other orangutans like Joss and Artemis, even though they are nearby. After eating, Bondan continues to finish her meal in the middle canopy.
With her stomach full, Bondan resumes her exploration, occasionally eating on the forest floor with Joss. As the day darkens, Bondan looks for a tree to rest in. Joss, who is afraid of being alone, usually approaches Bondan as she is making a nest, and they end up resting together in the upper canopy. There, Bondan and Joss end their day by resting, preparing themselves for the next day’s forest school session.
