BANIR

For now, Banir continues to spend her days in the enclosure with her mother, Benazir. Their days follow a simple routine—resting, playing, and, of course, eating. Despite the limited space, Banir still shows joy. She’s active, curious, and never seems to run out of energy, especially when playing with her mother.

The bond between Banir and Benazir is close, filled with the warmth and tenderness that characterizes a strong mother-child relationship. Still, a unique dynamic often emerges during feeding time. Benazir, though protective, can be surprisingly competitive. More often than not, she snatches food that was actually meant for Banir—living by the rule of “first come, first served.” But Banir never seems upset. She remains affectionate and clingy, often seen napping peacefully on Benazir’s back during the day, holding on tightly as she drifts off to sleep.

As a mother, Benazir is extremely protective. When someone approaches the cage—like the SOC documentation team trying to take photos—Banir typically retreats, seeking comfort and safety. Instinctively, Benazir doesn’t hesitate to show her defensive side. She swings her body and makes assertive movements, as if to say, “Stay away from my baby.”

This week, the weather in Jerora has been rather extreme—with rain-soaked nights followed by scorching hot days. Still, both mother and daughter remain in good health and spirits. Their feeding habits are stable, and regular check-ups by the SOC medical team confirm there are no significant health concerns. Banir, for her part, is not a picky eater. Whatever she’s given, she eats with great enthusiasm.
