It seemed that Banir and Manfred were having a difficult time pairing. Every mealtime, Manfred always blocks Banir, so the keepers usually have to prioritize giving Manfred his portion first. However, even after Manfred receives his food and it’s Banir’s turn, he still tries to pull her back and prevent her from getting her meal. Because this keep happening, Manfred was finally moved to the cage tunnel during feeding times so he wouldn’t take Banir’s portion.

When only Banir and Julia are in the socialization cage, the situation changes. Banir becomes the one who takes Julia’s portion, although not as aggressively as Manfred. Even so, Julia is still able to get her food.

Because Manfred often stole her food, Banir developed a unique strategy at mealtimes. She placed food on every part of his body—her feet, both hands, and her mouth—as if to secure it all before eating. Even when Manfred wasn’t in the cage, she continued this habit. Carrying so much food often made Banir difficult to move, but she didn’t seem to mind and continued with her adorable yet cautious routine.

From a health standpoint, Banir is in excellent condition. Her belly now looks bigger compared to when she was still with her mother, Benazir. Back then, Benazir often took most of the food, leaving Banir with only the leftovers in smaller amounts. Now that she receives the full portion she’s meant to have, Banir’s body has developed much better and she looks noticeably healthier and fuller than before.
