BANIR
This week, Banir, along with Otan and Julia, has been spending time in the cage as it has been raining almost every day. The cool weather makes them rest more often, only getting up occasionally to play with enrichments like the tires and hammock inside the cage. Banir also seems to enjoy playing with the water tap, as if it’s the most entertaining thing to do in weather like this.
Banir himself appears increasingly calm. Although known to be a bit shy, he is quite friendly with the staff and animal keepers who approach him. During feeding time, the three of them still tend to compete for food a classic moment that always keeps the staff on their toes to divide portions fairly. Today, they were also given jelly and milk as part of their enrichment.
Banir’s progress has been positive. He now regularly attends Forest School almost every month and continues to show improvement in his forest skills. Since being separated from his mother, Benazir, Banir has become much more relaxed compared to the early days, when he often seemed eager to stay close to her. Fortunately, Banir and Benazir can still see each other from a distance, which helps keep him at ease.
So far, Banir, Otan, and Julia are all in good health. Their eating patterns are normal, with almost no food left uneaten. There are no signs of stress or unusual behavior. Hopefully, later this week, once the weather improves, the three of them can return to Forest School to continue their learning journey an important step for their future in the wild.
